Once in a while, something from the past suddenly pops into the present. Not something sinister, but it is something welcome.
It is a Mulberry Ted Messenger Bag!
Back in what may be around 2010 when Mon and I were browsing in a record store in Greenbelt 3 (I think it was in the now defunct Music One Record Store), I’ve seen a guy with the coolest leather messenger bag with a triple postman’s lock.

It had a top handle and he wore it as a messenger bag, although I had seen there were D-ring hardwares at the back of the bag. That was the first time I’ve seen a Mulberry bag in person, and the start of my love affair with Mulberry.
It was also that same year when I first bought a Mulberry Wexford Messenger Bag on eBay that I still adore up to this day. It was the first of the many Mulberry bags that found their way into my closet.
Fast forward to 2023, the bag that started it all popped up online from a local seller. It was the Mulberry Ted bag.

I think it is safe to say that Mulberry fell out of favor of the bag lovers everywhere. Its decline, most people would say, was attributed the moment Emma Hill left the fashion house 10 years ago in mid-2013.
Johnny Coca did try to revive it, then eventually leaving in 2020.
It was bad news for those who hoped to resell their Mulberry bags and re-coup most of their money. On the other hand, that meant those who don’t mind buying these had their field day as most Mulberry bags now sell for way less than they used to at the height of its popularity.

With that said, lucky for me as the local seller had one for sale at a very great price. I have not bought any Mulberry bags since May 2022 with a Mulberry Walter bag.
I also could use the Walter’s strap as another backpack strap for the Ted as they are exactly the same (although I noticed it hangs quite low at the back).
Its first outing? To the grocery! You can’t get more editorial than that!
