On what freedom means

When I opened my browser, I saw Google’s homepage showcasing the Philippine flag, as we are now celebrating our 114th independence from the colonial grip of Spain.

But whether we are truly free is another story.

I will not be delving more into the socioeconomic and political aspects of our country’s current situation.  There are various theories explaining that third world, or okay, developing countries like us are politically independent but economically dependent; therefore undermining the concept of freedom.

But the question of freedom is also quite personal to most people, and I also always ask myself am I really free?

Oh U.P.! You never change… or not!

To describe this day as exhausting is mere euphemism!

The weather was very indecisive whether it will rain or not. I was very uncomfortable the whole day because of the humidity. I had lots of things to do in school just for enrollment.

I woke up early at around 9:30 AM just to be able to exercise. I was already feeling bad that unlike most of the students who were surely in school even before I had woken up, I still chose to skip the morning rush against them and did one hour exercise at 10:00 AM. It felt extremely wrong not to exercise, given the quasi-feast of the day before.

Then, off to school I went.
