Autumn 2022 in South Korea! Day 5 and the unexpected Day 6 – Our Last Day(?) and the Airline Mishap

It was finally our last day and we did not have much on our plate. We were supposed to check out from the hotel at 12 noon, and just spend the rest of the day around Myeongdong.

After our breakfast, we immediately got dressed so we can immediately head out.

Myeongdong Cathedral

Our first stop was at Myeongdong Cathedral, which was supposedly the first place we visited on our first full day before Haneul Park.

Autumn 2022 in South Korea! Day 4 – Gapyeong Day

And the day we’d go to Gapyeong finally arrived! We have visited Nami Island twice in the past, but we have never been to Petite France and the Garden of Morning Calm.

As we did not have the patience to go from  one place to another, we opted to book the tour from Klook instead. We got the tour back in September for Php 3,034 per head.

Good morning, Seoul!

We had to wake up very early at 6:30 AM, as our meet-up time was 8:00 AM at Myeongdong Station Exit 2. It took us only 15 minutes to wolf down our breakfast, as we had to rush and get ready. The walk from Stanford Hotel to Exit 2 would take 11 minutes according to Naver, and we could not afford to be late.

The voucher mentioned we should be there 15 minutes before the departure time, but at 7:45 AM, we were still at Myeongdong.

We eventually reached Exit 2 with 3 minutes before 8:00 AM to spare. The throng of people and several flaglets were hard to miss. We were not late.

Autumn 2022 in South Korea! Day 3 – Meeting Familiar Faces

Day 3 and and it was our 2nd full day in South Korea. We woke up at 7:30 AM to have an early breakfast. But for some reason we still end up leaving the hotel 2 hours after.

We also still were living on single journey tickets on the train. We had been having difficulties looking for TMoney, unless it was something we had to personalize with some photos. We walked all the way to Myeongdong, hoping there was some TMoney there but we found none. It was comical how we were not able to find any, considering it was not our first time in South Korea.

A new day. Let’s go.

Autumn 2022 in South Korea! Day 2 – The Long Train Rides Around Seoul

It was our first full day under the glorious autumn sun. We slept almost 3:00 am, yet we had to wake-up at 7:00 AM. We were told that the breakfast would be available only until 10:00 am, and we had to make sure we had our fill as it’d be a long day.

The first thing I did as soon as we woke up: open the curtains. Our hotel was located right across Lotte Department Store, and I could already see the morning rush brewing from up above.

We were not sure what we’d see at the breakfast buffet, but it was more than what we expected. (I’ll post my thoughts on the hotel on our ‘last’ day post). After a quick 30-minute breakfast, we went back to our room to prepare for the day.

Let’s start the day. And it was also cold

The temperature was at 7° Celsius, which was of course cold. I was not sure if it was cold enough to wear a leather jacket. On the other hand, I packed lean and had planned everything ahead of time, including what I’d have for the day.

I had a history of packing more than I need, only not to use at least a third of what I brought along with me. Nevertheless, I believe I am getting better at this, as I only have a couple of extra clothes ready, so as to save precious luggage space.

At exactly 9:45 AM, we were already headed downstairs. It was cold. The temperature, however, was forecasted to climb up until 17, thus I was hoping my jacket won’t be too much.

Autumn 2022 in South Korea! Day 1 – The Arrival

So the day finally came, we were on our way to South Korea! It has been almost two months since our visa got approved, and we had been excited for weeks for this trip.

Everything was set, including Mon’s sister looking after our beloved cats same as last time. Great thing we already had an automatic litter box to take care of, well, their business. It will be one less chore for her to do while we were away for 5 days.

Back at NAIA Terminal 3

Our flight to Incheon was not until early afternoon, but we already decided to be there much earlier in the morning. During our flight to Singapore back in September, the queue in the immigration was too long, it almost took us about an hour. We did not take any chances.
