Oh sunny day!

I did not bother bringing an umbrella today because I have a feeling that it will not rain. Hopefully I’m right. If not, I have no idea how to protect my bag from the rain.

Mink oil. Bad idea.

Mink oil. Bad idea. And speaking of protecting the bag, I’ve tried cleaning and conditioning the bag after taking it out of the dustbag with mink oil. I’ve heard that it protects leather from the water but it just made the leather on this deerskin darker. So I’ve learned a valuable lesson on where to use this product. They work quite well with finished leather like on my smooth Doc Martens or Coach glove tanned leather, but not to be used with unfinished leather bags. I should have searched online before doing so.

About the mink oil can, it is interesting how it reminded me of the French translation  of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone or Harry Potter à l’école des sorciers. In the English version, Professor Flitwick mentioned about Wizard Baruffio mispronouncing the Wingardium Leviosa spell and ended up with a buffalo on his chest. But in the French version, the scene was translated as a case of bison (Eng. bison) being mispronounced as vison (Eng. mink). Hilarious.
