Back in Makati

One of the most amazing things about being back in Makati is seeing many familiar faces and places again. For the longest time, I have been working in Makati and I can confidently say that I more or less know the Central Business District like the back of my hand.

The first thing in my agenda was to meet one of my close high school friends, who happen to work few blocks away from me. Four years ago, we had unexpectedly met in Diliman, and it was only fitting that we see each other again in a familiar UP fixture: Rodic’s.

Makati is also beginning to get ready for the holiday season, and there were already capiz decorations in the center island of the whole Ayala Avenue. Too bad that Ayala FGU still uses the same nativity scene it has been using for years. I was hoping they could at least mix things up this year.

Part of my routine after work is to meet Mon in Glorietta or Landmark. I just walk all the way to the mall and pass by Greenbelt area. They have this interesting “installation” of fake trees in the middle of Greenbelt 5. They looked like cherry blossoms to me, but I was wrong.

It was nice to be back in Makati! The place where everything is walking distance for me! 😀
